One way of assessing our full year performance is to simply look at the results our business delivered, despite the changing competitive landscape, regulatory headwinds , and economic environments impacted by inflationary pressures. Another way is to analyse our performance against the factors that in 2021, stood to determine the success and long-term profitability of our company.

Our financial performance has been remarkably robust across business engagements. We generated N9.274 billion in Gross Written Premium (GWP) with an underwriting profit of N80 1 .75 million and when adjusted for the adverse effects of C OVID -1 9 and the economic contraction, our operating profit exceeded the prior year's record levels. The company's financial performance show well diversified and healthy our underlying business performance is.

The highlights of our overall business performance reveals that the Fire portfolio generated 29.3 % growth in the year 2021 thus, contributing to 3 7% of the GWP. However, Mari ne and Aviation became the most profitable business in the entire portfolio, generating N2.078 billion in GPI and resulting to N554 .0 million underwriting profit and contributed 23% to the GPI. Our persistent focus on productivity has led to further improvements in the underlying profitability, as we have increased our Profit Before Tax (PBT) for the third consecutive year. Our Investment Income proved resilient, with solid net inflows and excellent operating profitability. We are positioned to improve on this performance by generating rental income from the Investment property in the coming years.
